I started servicing pools when I was just a boy. My father taught me to disassemble, clean and reassemble the filter for our above ground pool. Soon I was helping all the neighbors clean their pools. As an Eagle Scout I spent my summers working at a local Boy Scout camp maintaining the pool. This was an Olympic size pool with a 12 foot deep end. It was outside in Michigan and required undoing the winterization and prepping it before we could fill it. The filters took up an entire room and needed to be serviced daily. It was a great job for a teenager. My next pool service experience was as a swimming instructor at the US Naval base Orlando, FL. Besides teaching swimming, it was my responsibility to keep the pool and gym equipment up to military standards.
