In 2007, company founder, David Ritchie turned 16 and was a sophomore at Fitch High School in Austintown, Ohio. Faced with the cost of being a teenager in these times, David looked past the "flipping burger" job, the clothing sales clerk or popcorn pusher at the movie theater. He followed in the foot steps of other business owners in his family and became his own boss. Using money he earned from shoveling snow and raking leaves in his neighborhood as a down payment, young David Ritchie borrowed money for his first mower. While others his age were coveting game consoles and concert tickets, David was beaming with pride showing off his new shiny red zero turn mower. His next step was working with the owner of IM Image Marketing. They traded their services so a logo and image could be developed for his business. He also learned a lot about how to market his business and the importance of keeping a consistent and professional look. This let his clients know that even at his young age he was serious about his lawn care and maintenance business. Over the last few years of high school, David balanced his time between business owner and student. He built his client base and landed some large commercial accounts.
