Austin and Emily started The Green Seed in 2014 with the goal of providing eco-friendly landscaping services with attention to detail. The business quickly grew within a couple years to 3 crews out of the Montavilla Neighborhood of Portland. During this time that we changed our focus to sustainable design and build. In 2018 we moved our business to Canby, OR to a larger space. We slowly began downsizing so we could be more hands on with the installation of our designs to ensure meticulous attention to detail. The Green Seed is just Emily and Austin now and our main focus is providing thoughtfully planned designs with sustainability in mind. We take our clients needs and budget for their yard into careful consideration when creating our beautiful mixed media designs. We still offer build services for small projects and work with experienced and reputable contractors for jobs that are too large for the two of us to install on our own. In 2019 we launched our sustainable nursery which is Certified Naturally Grown. This means no synthetic pesticides or fertilizers are used in the production of our plants. We primarily use our own Naturally Grown plants for our designs and fill in with plants from other local nurseries for certain situations or special requests for plants we donu2019t grow. When working with other contractors to install our designs we always reserve the planting to be installed by us so that we handle the plants with utmost care from start to finish.
