I agreed to a lawn replacement for $8000 in September 2019. According to Mike of Envious Lawns, (who also does business under Mikeandsons Services of Tampa Bay, LLC) a roll of turf arrived at my house damaged. The guys "Frankenpatched" my front lawn to solve the problem that day and Mike agreed in writing to order more turf and come back and replace the substandard area within 30 days. Weeks went by and when I questioned him about returning, he asked if he could wait until he ordered more turf for another client and then use the extra to fix my yard, to which I agreed. More weeks went by and I contacted Mike again and he finally set a date to come back, but he failed to show up or even contact me to tell me he was not coming. Now Mike has disappeared and will not even answer my messages or speak to me. I guess I will have to go to small claims court to resolve this which is a huge hassle for me. All I want is for my lawn to get fixed and all Mike has to do is honor his written agreement with me and replace that one section. In addition, grass from under the artificial turf is growing up through the artificial turf and I have to constantly pick it out. That is not supposed to happen according to Mike or any artificial turf installer. I would NOT do business with Envious Lawns again. Update: Envious Lawns has lied repeatedly in their response to my complaint. First, they agreed in writing to repair the lawn AT THE TIME they installed it, after admitting it was not right. If the problem was due to the type of turf I bought, why agree on that day to repair it? Once they agree to come out and repair the lawn, they blew off both of the appointments they made, first saying someone was sick and the second time they just never showed up or returned my calls asking why they did not come and trying to set up another appointment. I have the same phone number I had when I hired them and I have responded to EVERY phone call/text message from them. Second, if they are waiting for the manufacturer to send more turf it has been 18 months. How long does it take? When they realized I was not going to drop my complaint, they agreed to pay me a rebate (per their own response) of $800 (why would they offer me a rebate if the job was done correctly or it was my fault due to which turf I purchased? Even their lies don't make sense.) I agreed to that amount but when it came time to pay me they disappeared and would not return my calls or text messages. I have voice mails, e-mails and text messages to prove all of this. I have accepted the fact that they have ghosted me and are not going to honor their written agreement, so I feel an obligation to warn other innocent home owners who may get taken in by them as I did. Do not fall for their explanations as to why there are so many complaints about their work as I did. It was always an unreasonable customer, or weather or a manufacturer issue, etc. I am here to tell you none of those apply to my situation; time and time again, I gave them extra time to fix the problem, but they simply did not care to honor their agreement. Response from the ownera year ago Hello, our grass roll comes in 15ft rolls and sometime because of the yard shape, there will be seams. Our installers make the seams invisible. There is no guideline for there to be no seams. Sometime there will be more seams than other depend on shape of lawn, curve shape. However, we do addressed your concern by trying to replace the portion you having concerns. However, you choose our bestseller for backyard and a different style for front yard. When the manufacturer makes the artificial grass roll, they use specific amount and sometime different color by a bit, called MO. Each batch the manufacturer would make a certain amount of roll, then change the MO base on whatever. We cant get the same MO until sometime. We are waiting for manufacturer. We have offered you money rebates, tried contacting you, leaving voicemail.
