NEVER USE THIS PERSON! If I could give Charles Christopher "Chris" Burgett and his AQUAZONE pools a score of -1,000,000,000,000 I would. IT IS A NIGHTMARE! Frankly, I think he should be in JAIL! He has no problem looking right at you and telling u what u want to hear. Take your money and disappear. Avoid! He expects 1/3 payment when signing contract, 1/3 when they dig the hole, 1/3 IF gunite is ever shot and the last 10% when it's complete. He left us with 10% of the work completed and he walked away with nearly 70% of the money. His excuse book is several volumes. He always says they are coming tomorrow or Tue or whatever, no one ever shows and he doesn't bother to inform homeowner. It is a full time job just to stay on him to get the slightest thing completed. Only an hour here or there is there ever any work done. One day he might deliver some pvc pipe, the next week he might send someone to cut a few pieces, another 10 days and someone might show up and glue a couple pieces together. He has no regard for the stress and strain he puts on you or your family, be it financially, mentally or emotionally. He does not have a brick and mortar business, only a garage busting at the seams with pool junk. If you ask for samples of the stone or tile, be ready to wait several weeks to get them, if you get them at all. He might just bring you something he has in the garage, and nothing like what you requested. He went from early Nov until Mar without even visiting the job site. I thought maybe the man was under house arrest or something. Just a few examples of his excuses. 1. Aug. 2020 Gary almost has your plans finished. Bill didn't finish your plans because his mother died in Dec. 2. My mother in Florida is having knee surgery. 3. Sept 2020 "Your pool is submitted for inspection", only to learn there in December there isn't even an electrical permit! 4. Confronted about no building permit, he said he had it in hand. Only to learn later, he never had it or applied for it. Then forced to apply for building permit in January, it was denied! But the hole was dug, rebar down and forms for gunite up in mid-September! 5." It rained last week." "It might rain tomorrow." "Looks like rain next week.," ...blah blah. He uses the weather a lot! 6. July 2020, ordered the stone for your pool decking. Later learn it was ordered in Feb 2021 and could take weeks to arrive. Confronted, he never would admit he didn't order it in July the prior year, nor admit he just ordered in 3 weeks prior to asking where it was. Later you may learn he took your money to purchase materials to finish his friends pool. 7. "Got you scheduled for plumber to come on Wednesday." Wednesday will be the one and only day all week there is a 100% chance of rain. 8. Equipment broke as we were loading it. So-n-so wrecked his car. Actually told me "It would be nice if I would calm down a tad". This after being paid almost $100k and being patient for 9 months!! If you ask for an expected completion date, timeline or anything showing what he has ordered, forget it. He will ignore the question completely. Has he paid his vendors, who knows? One said he got a cold check from Chris. If he fails to do so, it is my understanding the vendors and sub-contractors can place a lean on your property! Nor will he tell you just who and what sub-contractors are on your property. Of course without a contractors license or getting building permits he doesn't have to show he's carrying any kind of insurance, workman's comp or otherwise. Further he is not a licensed contractor, nor gets building or electric permits. He leaves the homeowner exposed to the repercussions of this. Currently there are 3 pending lawsuits in Sumner County, TN courts all with claims exactly like these bad goole reviews.
